Jan 31 2013 – Animal Kingdom and Epcot

I went for a run – T was up but didn’t want to come with me so I went a bit longer than expected – 2 complete laps around the lake plus the portion out to Hollywood Studios once.

Heather was not feeling well so I took both kids to Stone Harbor Club for a quick breakfast and then brought them back to the room.

  • Headed out to Animal Kingdom
    • Stopped for Heather to get cold meds at medical center
    • Got fast passes to safari ride
    • Rifiki – K was first to touch snake (ball python) they brought out to talk about
    • Straight to safari ride – good selection of animals – no zebras though
    • Saw Devine
    • Lunch – quick serve right by Yak and Yeti – Chinese food – it was a nice change to have rice instead of fries
    • Walked past Expedition Everest but T did not want to go on so we will leave it for another time
    • Did flying triceratops – all 4 of us
    • Did Primeval Whirl – T and I – was fun – first time for both us
    • All four of us did Dinosaur – Heather and K first time – K and T got a bit scared
    • Took kids to the play park in the Dinosaur area but after about 10 minutes K had tripped and skinned her knee – bit of bleeding
    • Started toward medical area but seemed ok so stopped and did Bugs World – K got scared and sat on her knees making the skinned one worse
    • Went to medical tent and got it cleaned and a bandage (and some spares)
    • Out to busses and back to hotel for snack at Stone Harbor
    • Back to room for rest
  • Into Epcot
    • Checked for Test Track – no fast passes available and wait was too long
    • Rode Spaceship Earth
    • Did character spot – no one there – pictures with Mickey, Pluto and Minnie – even managed to get all 3 in a picture with us. Pretty rare – AWESOME!
    • Nemo ride
    • Watch fireworks – good vantage point
    • Walk to Boardwalk and grabbed a pizza to take back to the room
    • To bed
